To celebrate the Swiss national day, me and my new-found-friend N. went to the zoo in the evening (it was open till 22:00 instead of 18:00 because of August 1). Though you would expect a lot of people to go to one of these special zoo nights, the park was almost completely empty, which was awesome!
Some exotic birds and one alligator were particularly photogenic today:
After the lovely zoo visit (we stayed until 21:30), we went to the Polyterasse for a beautiful view over the city by night with fireworks (again, to celebrate). Unlike new year's eve, the fireworks continue the whole evening. We stayed until 23:15. It was really cool. A fine national holiday!
