A visit to the market in Den Bosch
This morning we went to the market in Den Bosch to eat some 'Hollandse nieuwe' (the Dutch new?). This is (brined) herring (according to wikipedia). Essentially, it is raw herring and it is a very typical Dutch food which is fantastic, although half of all the Dutch people and most foreigners are disgusted by the idea of eating a raw herring. It is, however, delicious. Some people eat it with (raw) onions, but I prefer mine plain. At the market in Den Bosch, there is a fish market stall which always gives us discounts, and has good fish. So, I ate my herring :)

To end the visit, we had a sweet desert: my sister had ice cream, I had a hot stroopwafel (syrup waffle?, again very Dutch) with chocolate. *yum*

A very nice gesture
When we arrived home, one of the neighbours stopped by to give me and my sister a present, because I am going to Switzerland. We are now each the proud owner of the cutest tea set for one ever (so we can think of each other when we drink tea). I thought this was a really nice gesture :)

A visit to the city centre of Waalwijk
We went to the city centre of Waalwijk to run some errands. One of those errands was picking up the bracelet I got for finishing my master's thesis. It is now properly engraved. As a little inside joke, my average grade for my (whole) master is engraved. I really like it, as it is very subtle (it took quite a few tries to make a picture of it, because of its subtlety) and I think (hope?) it is not very pretentious, as the number could represent pretty much anything. I could however use some reassurance on that point, because my friends from Utrecht totally hated this idea and thought it was arrogant etc. Anyway, it's done now.
