Doei Waalwijks eten!

Anticipating my Grand Départ from Utrecht this year (yes, the Tour the France starts here as well ;) ), I decided to use this weekend to sample once again all the lovely food-that-I-am-used-to from Waalwijk, my home town. Therefore, we had takeaway from the local butcher on Saturday (they have a royal warrant of appointment, so they are really good). We had the usual: chicken wings, spare ribs, spaghetti, pasta salad, chili meat sandwich and meat balls. It was really good!

And then on Sunday, we had chips with snacks from our local snackbar (because they really cannot make chips..). We also had 'special sauce' to go with the chips, which is very Dutch indeed and consists of mayonnaise, curry and onions. Again, it is really good! The bratwurst may be a bit German/Swiss already, but the bratwurst from our local snackbar of course tastes very special!

I have an egg allergy so mayo is a no no, but I lived for some years in Brugge in the seventies and got the taste for curry ketchup with my chips although the locals mostly preferred mayo!
